This edition presents highlights from the 6th Mauricio Kagel Composition Competition, which took place at the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 2025: Six short, prize-winning piano works, that unite artistic ambition with approachable technique. Chosen through an anonymous, fully transparent process by an international jury, these pieces are ideal first encounters with contemporary music for young players.
