ABSTRACT
The study and teaching of music composition, like any other artistic or non-artistic activity, gathered a great number of active participants. Teachers with lectures regarding analysis, techniques, history, among many others, all within a free and easy click, as YouTube takes the lead as one of the most crowded virtual mind palaces, where those who wish to may wander for any respectable number of daily hours. Considering the ever-growing availability of composers, professors, lessons, teachings, and everything implied, this investigation arises with the purpose of discussing some of these developments and outcomes, and consider – or at least acknowledge – the relevance and the magnitude that these videos offer, taking into account the ideas of e-learning, distance education and continuous training, while dwelling between advantages and disadvantages regarding all audiovisual offerings available on YouTube.
