This piece was born from the application of several processes based on a methodology of textual transcription, drawn from two short poems. The first, “das flores ao mundo, do mundo às flores” by António Poppe, and the second, “não me lembro em que naufrágio disseste que vinhas” by Vítor Sousa.

What began as an almost strictly cryptographic approach to the texts — focusing primarily on the characters, letters, and spaces — soon revealed itself to be naturally approaching a kind of improvisation, a nearly instinctive impulse among the three instruments.
